I was always a geek.
In the mid 1990s that meant creating a fansite for my favourite figure skater, featuring frames, annoying tiled backgrounds and repeating midis droning on in the background.
Over ten years ago, this morphed into a website called Feed the Fire Galleries, on which I displayed a batch of fanart that I had done as a hobby. Soon this became a hub for fanart by myself, some friends of mine, and some people I had met who shared my interest in graphic work.
A couple of years ago, as I attended university, again the site changed completely. It became primarily a blog and a place to display my portfolio pieces, both graphic and literary.
As I grew up, I changed. As the internet evolved, so did I, and this is merely an iteration in that process. Dust to dust they say; but the differentiation between online and offline becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish, and as we move more and more of ourselves online and technology becomes more and more an inseparable part of our lives, then come pixels from the dust.
I currently live in Ontario, Canada. My nerdiness has been fueled by a Master of Information Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval Studies, with a Computer Science minor. I enjoy video games, RPGs, dead languages, war movies, sports, photography, science fiction and fantasy, and the outdoors.
